How it makes money
When you book through a link on this site, the booking is completed by Nuitée Travel Limited, a company registered in Ireland, company number 570685, registered office 4 Waterloo Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin D04 A0X3. They are the merchant of record, they take your payment and they hold the reservation. Andre Blunt Kft earns a commission on that booking, and the nightly rate you see here already includes it. You are not paying a separate fee, and you are not paying less by going around us, but you should know the margin is there. It is roughly thirteen percent of the rate. That is how a guide with no advertising and no paywall pays for itself.
Who chooses
Andre Blunt chooses. There is no committee and no algorithm ranking these by what they earn. The order on the page is editorial.
What a property has to clear before it can be considered
Four conditions, all of them vetoes rather than scores. A property that fails any one of them is not eligible, and clearing all four earns nothing except the right to be considered.
- Guest rating. 8.8 or better, or 8.6 with at least a thousand reviews.
- A usable photograph. The sharpest image available has to be at least 1600 pixels wide. A property we cannot show properly does not go on a page that is mostly pictures.
- Real availability. Priced and bookable in at least two of four sampled windows across the year.
- A booking threshold. At least forty euros of commission on a typical booking. This is a commercial condition and we would rather say so than pretend it is not there. Below it, a listing costs more to carry than it returns, and the guide does not survive carrying them. It is the only place money touches this list, and it decides nothing about which of the eligible properties actually appear.
What gets a property onto the page
One rule, and it is a judgement, not a metric: a property earns a slot only if you can tell why it is here without being told. Most properties that clear the four conditions do not make the page.
What cannot get a property onto the page
Paying us. There is no sponsorship, no paid placement, no advertorial, no barter, and no arrangement where a property gets a slot in exchange for anything. Nobody on this list asked to be here and nobody was told they were being considered.
We also sell things to hotels
Andre Blunt is a photography and design studio as well as the publisher of this guide. Some properties on this list are, or become, clients of that studio. When that is true, it is stated on the property's own entry here, and it stays stated for a year after the work ends.
The rule we hold ourselves to: a property's place on this list is decided before any commercial conversation with them, and does not change because they hired us or because they turned us down. If a property stops meeting the bar, it comes off, client or not. If you think we have failed that, write to stays@andreblunt.com and say so.
Prices
Rates are the lowest live nightly price for two adults, quoted for the dates we link to, and they move with availability. They include our commission and the taxes the property collects, so the figure is what the room costs you. They do not include anything you add at the property.
